now i can imagine the howls & rage flooding the forums when they add OmniMechs for the IS. the only way to stop that would be to nerf there weapons the same way they went about nerfing clan weapons so there no pinpoint damage
IS OmniMechs have their own issues.
First, there is the availability timeline - IS OmniMechs (which we can currently, reasonably assume would follow the same rules as Clan OmniMechs with regard to customization, IMO) don't really become "a thing" until much later in the BT timeline:
- The Raptor makes its debut in 3052.
- The Black Hawk KU makes its debut in 3055.
- The Owens, Avatar, and Sunder make their debut in 3056.
- The OmniTech Firestarter chassis technically makes its debut in 3056, but its various configurations aren't available until 3057.
- The Strider and the OmniTech Blackjack make their debut in 3057.
- The Perseus (basically the OmniTech Orion) makes its debut in 3058.
- The Arctic Fox makes its debut in 3059.
- The Men Shen and the Hauptmann make their debut in 3060.
- The Templar makes its debut in 3062.
And then it's all
Wobbie stuff and additional configs for the above until 3100 (with the debut of the
Templar III).
Secondly is the OmniTech lockdown PGI has implemented to reflect the OmniMech rules from BattleTech - like their Clan-built counterparts (based on the assumption that the same rules are followed), IS OmniMechs would be unable to change their Engine type or rating, structure type, location of structure criticals (for Endo Steel), armor type, location of armor criticals (for Ferro Fibrous), Heat Sink type (notable because both the
Owens (basically the OmniTech counterpart to the
Jenner) and the
Strider (basically the OmniTech counterpart to the
Cicada) are the only IS OmniMechs locked into SHS), and the presence & locations of any fixed weapons & equipment (such as the fixed Medium Lasers in the CT of the
Avatar - like the
Puma's Flamer, they could never be moved nor removed).
About the only saving grace for IS OmniMechs (such that they would not be rendered largely "competitively" obsolete by the IS BattleMechs, let alone Clan BattleMechs) would be if their introduction also comes with the ability for OmniMechs of both tech bases to use omnipods from the other tech base (that is, IS Omnis being able to use Clan pod-mounted weapons, and Clan Omnis being able to use IS pod-mounted weapons) - which was one of the advantages in BattleTech.

but really PGI has throw the timeline an core rules out so there is no real point anymore for them to fallow what mechs an weapons should be in the game by time line as long as they keep stuff in the game that is not around in 3051 in fact an few the the game braking things that we do have in game now would simply be fixed if they removed the non 3051 stuff.
*edit oh the hunchback took up 3% of the clans mechs filled an it is an popular mech used by jade falcon an there our 3 iic varants so it would get its own skill tree
Aside from that coming out as gibberish (ESL, I take it?), PGI has stated again & again that they are generally following the timeline with regard to 'Mech & equipment availability and - while there may be a few things that stand out, mainly due to
the timeline reset from last June - they tend to be pretty good about that.
As such, and with the
Hunchback IIC not getting a third
variant until 3062 AND with both the second & third variants requiring out-of-timeline weapons (
Heavy Large Lasers (introduced in 3059) for the
Hunchback IIC 2 &
ATM-12 launchers (introduced in 3060) for the
Hunchback IIC 3), it seems highly unlikely to be happening anytime soon... if ever.
